ShamAIn: Designing Superior Conversational AI Inspired by Shamanism
Collaborating with Hyungjun Cho, Jiwon Lee, Chang-min Kim, and Tek-jin Nam, our research presented the design process, outcomes, and installation of ShamAIn, a multi-modal embodiment of conversational AI inspired by the beliefs and symbols of Korean shamanism. We adopted a research-through-design approach, this project offers an alternative perspective on conversational AI design, emphasizing the perceived benefits of culturally embedded interaction design.
