The Power of Close Others: How Social Interactions Impact Older Adults’ Mobile Shopping Experiences
Working with Yoobin Elyson Park, Esther Hehsun Kim, Hajin Lim, and Joonhwan Lee, we explored the influence of social interaction from close others (family, friends, local community) on the mobile shopping experiences of older adults. Therefore, we conducted in-depth interviews and design workshops with 31 older adults to understand their three patterns of mobile shopping experiences (learning from, collaborating with, and assisting close others) and suggested design guidelines for applying social interaction in technology.
